He obtained a L.L.M. in International Economic Law from the University of Houston, and also incorporated as Attorney and Public Notary from the Universidad Autónoma de Centroamérica.

Besides being an active Attorney and member of the Costa Rica Bar Association, he has been working as a External Advisor for the Organization of American States and he was appointed as Consul General of Costa Rica in the city of Houston, Texas during the time from 1998 to 2003.

He is a honorary and active member of the Greater Houston Partnership and the Interamerican Chamber of Commerce.
